Job Fair For All Positions Begins This Thursday, May 17th

MAY 15, 2012 (Franklin, Tenn.) – Andy Marshall, owner of the award-winning Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant has announced he will be opening a new restaurant concept in Historic Downtown Franklin in June.  Puckett’s Boat House (Grill, Bar, & Bait Shop) will open June 4th where the current Route 31 Café and Marcia’s Patisserie are located at 98 East Main Street in Franklin.

The Puckett’s Boat House will feature fresh fish, oysters and traditional Southern foods from the region known as the "Mojo Triangle" - from Nashville to Memphis to New Orleans. Currently, the Route 31 Café, which was formerly Riff Burgers, is being converted to “The Boat House Bar” with a full service menu. The bar will have covered outdoor seating looking out onto the gateway into Main Street.

“Historically, this property has been a visible Boat House for many years in Franklin. It is right on the Harpeth River,” said Marshall. “It just felt right to put a restaurant here that is a different from the other eateries in the area, offering another option for our town, while still holding to the tradition of the property.”

In addition to Apalachicola Oysters (fried and raw), the Puckett’s Boat House menu will include seafood fresh from the coast.  Featured items will include Low Tide Nachos with Shrimp and Crawfish Cheese Sauce, Boat House Shrimp Burger, White Fish Sandwiches, and Homemade Gumbo of the Day.  Burgers, Hot Chicken Sandwiches, Hand-Cut Fries and Onion Rings will also be included on The Boat House menu.

Marcia’s Patisserie is currently being converted into “The Boat House Bait Shop,” which will feature a kid friendly soda bar with hand-spun milk shakes, root beer floats, and specialty sodas. Fresh baked goodies such as homemade banana pudding, fried fruit pies, made-from-scratch cookies and hot fudge brownie sundaes will also be offered.

Jay and Marcia Franks, owners of Route 31 Café and Marcia’s Patisserie have partnered with Marshall on his newest endeavor. “We are so excited about the new things happening at 1St & Main.  The Puckett’s Boat House is just what Franklin needs and we are looking forward to Andy’s leadership in making this restaurant a wonderful experience for all who visit,” said Marcia.

J.T. Ward, who has been a manager at Puckett’s in Franklin and Nashville for several years, will be the General Manager of The Boat House. The Franks daughter, Bryana, will continue on as the Bakery Specialist and will join Ward as Assistant Manager.

Puckett’s co-owner Jan Marshall says customer's can expect nothing less than the very best from The Puckett's Boat House.  "The Puckett's brand is keen on offering excellent service to its guests. Our highest priorities are always terrific service, delicious food and a great atmosphere.  This will continue to be our main focus at The Puckett’s Boat House."

Pre-opening festivities will occur leading up to the June 4th Grand Opening Celebration.  Route 31 Café will remain open with a transitional menu during the renovation and hiring and training process.
