Frank Ortega is living a dream by recording country music that is rooted in a traditional country sound. Upon moving to Nashville, Ortega made friends throughout the music business, one of them being Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter James House. The two collaborated on Ortega’s independent hit, “Hot Women Cold Beer,” which hit number one on the Indie World Country Chart in January 09. Ortega’s dream finally came true when he inked a deal with Nashville based Quarterback Records. His first single with the label is “Honkytonk and The Altar,” which was penned by songwriting greats Kelley Lovelace (“He Didn’t Have To Be,” “Start A Band”), Tim Owens (“Ticks,” “Settlin’”), and Phil O’Donnell (“Back When I Knew It All”). O’Donnell also serves as producer on the song.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5
"One cannot underestimate the ability of modern bluegrass musicians to explore new territory. If you have any doubt, check out Rob Ickes' new CD. Ickes is used to breaking new ground. If you grow up in the bluegrass hotbed of San Francisco to become the 10-time IBMA dobroist of the year, you know no boundaries. With this breakthrough CD of Dobro and piano duets of jazz standards, Ickes carries on the tradition. Ickes doesn't just dabble in the genre, he takes it head on. The Dobro's sustain resonates with piano jazz licks like they were made for each other. It sounds like a natural, yet to date only Mr. Ickes and pianist Michael Alvey had the vision to put the two together. Unusual in modern music, but it may well be a first." - Road Song, Rob's latest CD, reviewed by Dr. Bobby Jones, Country Standard Time

Buzz Cason rediscovered the road life in 2004 when his autobiography was released and he made stops at over 150 venues including book signings, regional television appearances, clubs, festivals and some private events. Throw in writing and producing for the Derailers ’06 release, Soldiers Of Love on Palo Duro Records and you’ll find Buzz a busy bee around and away from the “hive”. One of the true pioneers of rock n' roll in the Nashville/Music City area, Buzz co-wrote and co-produced "Everlasting Love." U2 and Gloria Estefan are among the artists who have re-recorded this song, which is on the top 50 songs on BMI's all-time airplay list. Buzz's production company was responsible for the first two Jimmy Buffett albums in the early '70s and co-wrote several songs with him. Other songs on the charts co-written by Buzz include "Soldier Of Love" by Pearl Jam and "Love's the Only House" by Martina McBride. He published "She Believes in Me" by Kenny Rogers and "Bluer Than Blue" by Michael Johnson to name a few! Buzz and Bobby Russell published "Little Green Apples" and "Honey"- both were named two of the top songs of the century by ASCAP. This is a rare opportunity to see a true legend, don't miss it!

Casey Kelly’s performing and songwriting career spans 3 decades from sideman to Tom Rush on tour to headliner upon the release of his two solo albums (Casey Kelly and For Sale) on Elektra Records. Kelly’s years of playing with artists such as The Neville Brothers, America, the Beach Boys, BB King, Boz Scaggs, and Loggins & Messina gave him the forum to hone his skills as a singer and guitarist and songwriter. A two-time Grammy®-nominated songwriter for “Soon” (Tanya Tucker) & “Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight” (Kenny Rogers/Dottie West) Kelly’s had a successful hit-songwriting career. Some of his other hits include: “That Road Not Taken” (Joe Diffie), “Somewhere Down the Line” and “Cowboy Rides Away” (George Strait).
Grammy® Award winning vocalist Leslie Ellis teamed up with Kelly and Cerney 4 years ago when she moved to Nashville. Together they have taken their show around the US and to Norway. Leslie has sung with many artists including Celine Dion (“My Heart will Go On”) and Thomas Dolby. Last year her self penned “The Flyer Song” was adopted by the US Navy and made into a video as a tribute to the troops and their families. As an actress, Leslie has appeared on television and the Broadway stage and in 2007 starred in an independent film called, “My Name Is Wallace” which was invited to the Cannes Film Festival...
Todd Cerney is well known for both his musicianship and his hits as a writer, which include “Good Morning Beautiful” (which spent five weeks at Number 1 on the country charts), and “I’ll Still Be Loving You” by Restless Heart, ASCAP’s Country Song of the Year in 1997. Todd has had songs in a number of movies, including “Tequila Sunrise” with Mel Gibson and Michelle Pfeiffer, and “Angel Eyes” with Jennifer Lopez. One of Todd’s most popular crowd-rousers – a harmonica-laden tune called “Blues is My Business” – was recorded by Etta James and used in season four of HBO’s “The Sopranos.”
