PUCKETT’S SERVES UP NEW MENU ITEMS INCLUDING SOUTHERN FAVORITES WITH A TWIST
FRANKLIN, TN (July 26, 2010) – From appetizers to hearty entrees, eight new items join Franklin’s Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant’s already outstanding menu.
The new menu items, which are available at the Historic Franklin location were specially created to add even more variety to the renowned restaurant’s popular menu and have already proven tobe a hit among customers.
“A lot of our menu changes went into revamping our dinner menu,” says manager Claire Marshall. “We have added some exciting new dishes that have a distinct Puckett's twist as well as some great Southern classics.”
Kicking it off with appetizers, the new menu now features Fried Green Tomatoes– sliced firm green tomatoes are dipped in egg, coated with cornmeal, fried and served with a homemade chipotle bacon ranch sauce. “These have already been flying out of the kitchen,” says Marshall.
A new lunch item is now being served up as well - the Pimento Cheese Sandwich. “The fun part is that not only can you order as a sandwich, but you can add it to any dish that you want - think Bacon Cheese Burger with pimento cheese!”
Sumptuous new entrees enhance Puckett’s classic dinner menu. An 8-ounce Filet Mignon is choice cut, bacon-wrapped, & perfectly seasoned, grilled to order over an open flame. Also new to the menu is the Country Fried Steak, a tenderized ribeye, breaded & deep-fried, topped with Puckett’s hearty white pepper gravy.
Another new southern addition is Shrimp & Grits, which consists of six jumbo shrimp, blackened & sautéed with peppers, garlic, tomatoes, & mushrooms over grits with a house salad. Catfish Tacos are a redneck twist on a south of the border classic. Two flour tortillas are stuffed with catfish, blackened or fried, shredded cabbage, salsa & squeeze of lime.
A healthier option is the Grilled Chicken Breast -- lightly seasoned and grilled with a choice of moonshine bourbon glaze or BBQ Sauce and paired with the daily steamed or sautéed vegetable is sure to satisfy every size appetite.

ABOUT PUCKETT'S GROCERY & RESTAURANT
Founded by the Puckett family in the 1950s, Puckett's has served as a country store to several communities in Williamson County. Andy Marshall bought the Leiper's Fork Puckett's Grocery in 1998. In 2002, Puckett's branched out to start a formal dinner and music program. With all of the talented writers in and around town, the Friday night writers' show grew fast with people coming from all over to hear some of the finest that the industry has to offer in a cool, eclectic environment. Shortly after that, another opportunity opened up to expand Puckett's to Marshall's hometown and first love for community, in Historic Downtown Franklin. In February 2010, Puckett’s added to their already hefty list of accolades. Southern Exposure Magazine awarded eight Sizzle Awards to Puckett’s including Williamson county’s best burger, best meat and three, best staff and servers, best caterer, best value, and best live music.
Rob Robinson and his family now own the Leiper's Fork location, while the Marshall family plans to expand into the Downtown Nashville community, set to open in the fall of 2010. |
